Things To Do
Thanks to everyone for traveling from near and far to celebrate with us! Here's a few of our favorite spots in New York City for those spending the weekend. Enjoy!
Great NY Noodletown
28 Bowery
Located on Bayard Street and Bowery, ALO's grandfather started this restaurant over 50 years ago, bringing then new styles of Cantonese cuisine from Hong Kong, such as new fast food noodles and BBQ duck, chicken, and pork. Fast forward to today and Noodletown has since been featured in publications like the New York Times, frequented by celebrities, and recognized by foodies like David Chang, Eddie Huang and the late Anthony Bourdain.
L'Artusi
228 W 10th Street
A cozy Italian restaurant in the West Village with a classy vibe and amazing eats. On the night of our engagement (and to Mel's surprise), we had a celebratory dinner inside L'Artusi's private 2500 bottle walk-in wine cellar.
Potluck Club
133 Chrystie Street
A fresh take on Cantonese American cuisine served by the next generation of NYC's Chinatown (founded by some of our favorite people)!
The High Line
Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Avenues
One of our favorite spots in the city is The Highline (located near ALO's office). This elevated park runs along a former railroad track and offers stunning views of the city skyline and the Hudson River.
Broadway In NYC
West 41st to West 54th Streets from 6th to 8th Avenues
If you have some extra time, catch a Broadway matinee! We loved seeing Book of Mormon and Hamilton.
Mister Paradise
105 1st Avenue
Our go-to neighborhood cocktail bar, located just around the corner from our apartment!
Union Square Farmer's Market
Union Square West & E 17th Street
A farmer's market with small shops and local vendors located in Union Square. It's open year-round for a few days a week - we like to shop around there on the weekends.
Mel's Eats
Joe's Pizza
A classic New York slice
MONO+MONO
